About Uptas: Singapore’s No.1 Chemistry Learning Hub

Innovative Teaching. Proven Results. Trusted Tutors.

At Uptas Learning Hub, we believe Chemistry should be more than formulas and memorisation — it should be accessible, engaging, and even enjoyable. Since our founding, Uptas has grown into one of the most trusted centres for Chemistry tuition in Singapore, empowering thousands of students to achieve distinction

From humble beginnings to over 5,000 students coached and 94.1% distinction rates, Uptas stands for transformation. Our name, “Uptas,” comes from “Up To A Score (U to A)”, inspired by our founder’s journey from struggling student to top scholar. Today, with PhD- and MOE-trained tutors, in-house labs, and innovative resources, we continue to guide students toward their fullest academic potential.

Our purpose: We equip O-Level and A-Level students with the strategies, mentorship, and hands-on experience they need to master Chemistry with confidence.

Our Mission & Teaching Philosophy

At Uptas, our mission is to make Chemistry engaging, effective, and accessible for all students in Singapore. We believe in tapping every learner’s potential, no matter their starting point, through a blend of rigorous academic support and personalised mentorship.

Our experienced tutors apply active and hands-on learning methodologies, updating notes and resources so each lesson meets the exacting standards of the Singapore syllabus. Uptas strives to foster growth mindsets — helping students turn setbacks into improvement, and challenges into triumphs.

Dear Sir, I am very thankful and glad that I made a firm decision to join Uptas. Without your guidance, I would probably still be feeling very demoralised about my chemistry grade and continue getting F9 in school. Before tuition, I was told by everyone that Chemistry was all about memorising but you show me the way. I achieved an A2 in my O'Level Exam. Thank you!

I did not understand the mechanisms and purely studied using rote learning. However, after attending Dr Aw’s classes, I have developed a much deeper understanding of Organic Chemistry. While Dr Aw has a phD in Chemistry, he has the special ability to simplify complex Chemistry concepts into easier form as compared to school for students to understand.

Chemistry used to be one of the subjects I hated because it was so tedious and difficult. I remember I first heard about you from my school mates and all they said were, “Join Uptas, Join Ms Tham, you will become a Chem beast, too”. At that point in time, I was wondering if what they say is really true. But soon my grade in chemistry started to improve and I got a distinction in ‘A' Level. Thank you Miss Tham.

Dr Aw was a very caring tutor who truly cares for his students, who has a strong grasp in his knowledge of Chemistry. I first joined his lessons at the start of Year 6, after scoring U in Promotional Exams. Shortly after starting tuition, I started to pass Chemistry tests. This was, of course, much thanks to Dr Aw’s help.
